About Dr. Emily
After 20 years of working with neurodivergent children, I have shifted my focus to help adults learn to better support the children in their lives.
As of 2025, I am no longer taking new child clients but exclusively consulting with parents and educators. Due to licensing laws, I am only able to provide consultation for families living in North Carolina.
If you're not able to work with me directly, you can find links to my live and recorded parent workshops at www.learnwithdremily.substack.com.
More about me:
I am a former school psychologist who has spent the last 20 years working with neurodivergent children, alongside their parents and teachers, to build an understanding of how a child's development, mental health, and relationships intersect to create the ideal environment for their growth.
I earned a Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed an APA-accredited psychology internship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas. I completed my post-doctoral training in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD where I provided evaluation, therapy, and consultation services in elementary, middle, and high schools.
I have been working in private practice in my hometown of Raleigh since 2010. I am a Licensed Psychologist and Health Services Provider in NC specializing in autism, ADHD, anxiety, twice-exceptionality, and anxiety. I am certified in DIR/Floortime which informs my work with parents and educators.
ā
I am passionate about helping parents connect with their children in order to cultivate loving and supportive interactions that are felt by both parent and child. My background in School Psychology has given me extensive experience in psycho-educational evaluations, which helps me support parents as they navigate school services.
